Burgas Airport welcomed its one millionth passenger of 2024 on Wednesday, said Airport Director Vasil Atanasov. "This year we welcome our one millionth passenger a few days later than in 2023, but the season has been good so far and we expect to maintain the traffic levels of 2023," he noted.

The millionth passenger, Paul Cameron, arrived in Burgas with his wife on a flight from London. "This is a very pleasant surprise. It's not the first time we've been to your country, we like it here," said Cameron, who was greeted with gifts by the airport management.

Atanasov said that flights from Britain to Burgas have increased by about 14% in the 2024 summer season and that there is also an increase in fight numbers from Czechia, Israel and Denmark. New airlines are operating from the airport, most of them to Czechia. "We have requested programmes from several low-cost companies that will fly to Prague and Budapest," he said.
