Bulgaria’s Honorary Consul in Las Vegas and former governor of Nevada Bob Miller received a Golden Laurel Branch, the highest distinction, awarded by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. The award was presented at a ceremony on October 25, organized by the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles, the mission announced on its Facebook page.
Former presidents Peter Stoyanov and Bill Clinton, as well as Governor Joe Lombardo, congratulated Bob Miller on receiving the prestigious award. Additionally, November 2025 was declared Month of Bulgarian-American Friendship in Las Vegas and Clark County.
The award was presented by Boyko Hristov, Consul General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles, on the occasion of Bob Miller’s 20 years of service as Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Nevada. It was given in recognition of “his long-standing and dedicated efforts to promote trade and cultural ties between Bulgaria and the United States, as well as for his exceptional personal contribution in supporting the Bulgarian community in Nevada.”
Among the official guests at the ceremony were representatives from federal, state, and local authorities, including Congresswoman Dina Titus, Clark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom, and Las Vegas City Council member Nancy Brune. Also present were former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Mariya Gabriel, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Northern California and Silicon Valley Ognyan Gavrilov, representatives of the Nevada consular corps, members of the Bulgarian community from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, as well as various public figures, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders.
