The tenth edition of the Balkan Business Awards took place in Sofia Tuesday evening to honour significant business achievements in the Balkans that contribute to the sustainable development of societies in the region. The ceremony took place in the Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Sofia Hotel.

The organizers of the event are Global Media and VIP Communication PR, which are part of the international cooperation platform Global Leaders.

Burgas Municipality was named Best Large Municipality Contributing to Business Development. The municipality of Rodopi near Plovdiv took the award for Best Small Municipality with Contribution to Business Development. Kazanlak was distinguished for the quality of local governance.

Best Sustainable Business Development - the Kazanlak-based company Unimet;

Best Corporate and Social Responsibility - the Kazanlak-based company JUMT;   

Leader in Spatial and Artificial Rocks - Rim Rock Bulgaria;

Leader in Swimming Pool Sales - Pools.NET;

Business and Economic Growth Award - Biotrade;

Best Innovative Product/Service - Agro Product;

Best Employer - perfumery producer Al Amar; 

Best Young Entrepreneur - Mladen Zhelev of IT Business Project;

Best Charity - Zonta Club Sofia.

Partners of the event were Zonta Club Sofia, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, the Association of Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs, the Macedonian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bulgarian-Macedonian Chamber of Commerce, the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the International Institute for Security and Cooperation.
