More than 50,000 Ukrainians have received temporary protection and reside in Bulgaria, Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk told BTA on Wednesday during the opening of an exhibition in Varna.

She said that children from Ukraine integrate well in Bulgaria and that the embassy is actively cooperating with the Bulgarian government in order to support the children's education process. Training centres have also been built and function according to the rules of the Ukrainian education system, so that children can learn their mother tongue and the history of their homeland, Ilashchuk said.

The exhibition in Varna shows drawings and photos of the war in Ukraine from a child's perspective. It is hosted by the Varna Regional Library and organised by the Sofia Security Forum and the Association of the Officers in the Reserve Atlantic.
