A working meeting on reports of pollution on the Southern Black Sea coast during the past season took place on Tuesday at the Ministry of Tourism. The ministry said that the beaches are being continuously monitored and inspections are being carried out and will continue after the season, and that institutions follow clear and precise rules for transparency.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tourism Ministry, the Environment and Water Ministry, the Regional Development and Public Works Ministry and Chief State Inspector Angel Kunchev.
It was decided to investigate the causes of seawater pollution, if any, by the end of October, summarise the causes and take measures to tackle and improve the cleanliness of seawater and beaches. Each of the participating sides will, within their respective areas of competence, investigate the problem and take a decision to improve cleanliness, and the four ministries will meet again at the end of October to summarise the data and results.
