Conditions for hiking in the mountains are poor on Friday. It is cloudy and foggy, with rain showers throughout the day, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) told BTA. Snow showers are also expected in places above 2000 m, they said. The weather conditions will be bad throughout the day, no hiking is recommended, the MRS added. 

There were no incidents in the mountains over the past 24 hours.

In mountainous areas, rainfall will be considerable and accompanied by thunder, according to the weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. There will also be conditions for hail in places in southwestern Bulgaria, the Rhodope region and the western regions of the Upper Thracian lowlands.
