The foreign ministries of Bulgaria and Greece held bilateral political consultations on Tuesday, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. The plenary talks included a large spectrum of current matters on the European agenda, including: EU enlargement; the EU integration of the Western Balkan countries; EU's institutional reform; EU's response to the war in Ukraine; the elaboration of a common European approach to the Black Sea region, the situation in the Middle East; migration challenges. 

On the Bulgarian side, the consultations were led by Gergana Karadjova, Director General for Political Affairs, and Yordan Parvanov, Director General for European Affairs. The Greek delegation was led by Ambassador Roussos Koundouros, Director General of Political Affairs, and Elena EGoulousi, acting Director General of European Affairs.

The two delegations agreed the Bulgarian-Greek partnership is a of strategic mutual interest and to the benefit of Southeast Europe and the EU as a whole. They expressed the will for further development of infrastructure, transport, and energy connectivity between Bulgaria and Greece.
